Get ready for Highland Lake’s ice fishing event. The event will take place on Saturday February 23rd from 7AM to 5:00PM and Sunday February 24th from 7:00AM to 12:00AM.
Cash Pay Out Awards and Bon Fire to take place at Chic Park on February 24th starting at 1:30PM. If you like bring some food to eat and favorite beverage of choice with you to celebrate the winners and to enjoy some intellectual conversations among anglers.
Entry Fee Entry Fee is $10.00 per person. Each angler must register before or on the event day by contacting Ron Jensen either by phone 847.641.8167 or email email@example.com. Please give me your name and resident address information and your contact phone number. Contestants must be residents of Highland Lake only.Guest can fish as long as they are accompanied on the lake with a resident during fishing.
To Pay by cash or mail. Mail your entry fee or deliver it to Ron Jensen at 34039 N. Hickory Ave. Grayslake, IL 60030. Check’s should be made out Payable to The Highland Lake Property Owners Association.
You can also pay online at the bottom of this page. Additional money collected over and above the prize payout will go towards future fish stocking only.
Make sure to fill out the "Eskimos On Ice" Ice Fishing Registration form below after making your payment to let us know who will be fishing with you.
Please note: Should one week prior to the event we do not have a minimum of 5 inches of ice, the event will be cancelled and your entry fee refunded.
PRIZES and EVENT RULES
There are 4 fish categories for this event. The Biggest Fish Payout is determined by the fish length, not weight.
1. Largest Bass (Large Mouth/Small Mouth) $25.00 (HL Lake Rules Large Mouth Bass Limit 3 per day. Minimum length limit, 12 inches. SmallMouth Bass Is (Catch & Release Only). 2. Largest Walleye $25.00 (HL Lake Rules Minimum length limit 16 inches. Limit 2 per day). 3. Largest Northern Pike $25.00(HL Lake Rules Minimum length limit 30 inches. Limit 1 per day). 4. Largest Musky $25.00(HL Lake Rules (Catch & Release Only).
Catch and Release is preferred during the event. Note: All Musky and Small Mouth Bass caught MUST BE RELEASED as these fish are catch and release only.
Large Mouth Bass, Walleye and Northern Pike can be taken for dinner only if they fall within the rules of the Highland Lake Association. See the size limits listed above.
To register a fish we ask that you measure the fish on the ice and take a picture of it with your ruler along side of it. Send the picture and the name of the person that caught the fish to firstname.lastname@example.org or text this information to Ron Jensen at 847.641.8167.
