2/25/19 Eskimos On Ice Fishing Event Over
Rain and wind made this years event a real challenge for the 11 anglers that were signed up for the event. Eight-five dollars was raised to go toward fish stocking from this self funded event.
Karl Heidike took the money for the longest bass. His large mouth was 16.5 inches. Andy Loria caught the longest northern pike at 30.5 inches. Both of these fish were released to fight another day.

Update: The 2021 Fishing Derby was a great success. Weather was ideal and we had great participation. $540.00 was raised by the event and will go to fish stocking.
Matteo was our trophy winner and resides on the south side of the lake.
He caught a 19" walleye and a 23" pike.

Another Ice Derby Is In The Books
The Fishing Derby was a great success. Over 20 participated and over $860 was raised for this years fish stocking. Congratulations to Todd, ticket #42 on winning the 50/50 raffle. The venison chili was also a big hit, thank you to the Eubanks/Coulter families for donating the meat and a shout out to Jim and Ron for planning this yearly event. We hope to see you next year.

The event will take place on Saturday February 5th and Sunday the 6th.
Registration Information
Entry Fee
Entry Fee is $10.00 cash per person which will be collected on the ice during the event. Each angler must register before or on the event day by contacting Jim at 847-542-7636 or Ron at 773-447-0270. Please provide your name and resident address information and your contact phone number. Contestants must be residents of Highland Lake only. Guest can fish as long as they are accompanied on the lake with a resident during fishing.
Additional money collected will go towards future fish stocking only.
Please note: Should one week prior to the event we do not have a minimum of 5 inches of ice, the event will be cancelled and your entry fee refunded.
TROPHY and EVENT RULES
The Biggest Trophy award is determined by the fish length, not weight.
Catch and Release is preferred during the event. Note: All Musky and Small Mouth Bass caught MUST BE RELEASED as these fish are catch and release only.
Large Mouth Bass, Walleye and Northern Pike can be taken for dinner only if they fall within the rules of the Highland Lake Association. See the size limits listed above.
To register a fish we ask that you measure the fish on the ice and take a picture of it with your ruler along side of it. Send the picture and the name of the person that caught the fish to 847-542-7636. Should you need assistance with measuring your fish or have any questions during the event please contact Ron or Jim at cell phone #'s above.
